The Capital Development Authority has issued a Request for Proposals to hire an international zoological consultancy firm for the proposed Islamabad Wildlife Safari Park at Malpur. The tender was published on October 15, 2026. It is a further procurement step. It is not the start of construction. Government announcements are also published by the Press Information Department.
What the Consultant Would Do
The consultant is to provide specialised technical expertise for the park's planning, animal habitats, welfare standards and design review. The reports we have seen do not give the contract value, the length of the assignment or the closing date for proposals. We therefore cannot say how long the selection will take.
Why This Is a Procurement Step
The CDA had approved the hiring of an international consultant in August. The October 15 tender follows that approval. It invites firms to bid, and it does not mean that a firm has been chosen or that building work has begun. The reports do not give a construction start date, a budget for the park or a completion target.
Why Property Impact Remains Speculative
A wildlife safari park could support tourism and recreational infrastructure in Islamabad and could benefit nearby businesses. That effect depends on the project being designed, funded and built, and none of that has been confirmed. The reports do not name nearby areas or housing schemes that would be affected, so any effect on property values is speculation.
What This Means for Residents, Investors and Businesses
Residents and investors near Malpur should not price in a benefit from the park yet. The signals to watch are the tender closing date, the award of the consultancy contract, the project budget and the start of design work.
