Rawalpindi authorities have called for faster completion of a Rs147.88 million commercial plaza in Civil Lines and residential flats at Asghar Mall described as costing Rs34 million, according to a report published on November 1, 2026. Both projects are run by the Rawalpindi Development Authority RDA. The call to speed up work is a direction. It does not mean either project has reached a new stage or has a new completion date.
What Was Reported
The report says authorities asked for quicker completion of the two projects. These are the plaza in Civil Lines, costing Rs147.88 million, and the flats at Asghar Mall, costing Rs34 million. The report as we have it does not say which authorities gave the direction, how far either project has progressed or whether the costs are budgets or spending so far. We therefore describe the figures only as reported.
What Is Not Known
The report does not give completion dates, the number of shops or flats or the planned prices. It also does not say who will buy or lease the units or when they will be offered. We make no estimate. Provincial announcements are published by the Government of the Punjab.
Why This Matters for Property
If completed, the plaza could add commercial space in Civil Lines and the flats could add housing at Asghar Mall. Until completion dates and sale or lease terms are published, there is nothing for buyers or tenants to act on, and no effect on property values has been established.
What This Means for Buyers and Businesses
Those interested in the units should wait for an official RDA announcement of completion and the terms of sale or lease. The signals to watch are a revised completion date, an RDA notice offering the units and the reported cost on completion.
