The Rawalpindi Development Authority RDA has proposed a Rs68.98 million plan to repair roads, footpaths, drainage systems and manholes in Rawalpindi, according to a report published on November 2, 2026. This is a proposal. Provincial approval is still pending, so no work has been approved or started.
What Is Proposed
The plan covers repairs to roads, footpaths, drainage systems and manholes. Old Airport Road and Rawal Road are named as priorities. The report as we have it does not list the other roads, give the cost of each item or say which approving body must act. Provincial announcements are published by the Government of the Punjab.
What Is Not Known
The report does not say when approval is expected, how the work would be funded or how long it would take. It does not name contractors. It also does not say whether the plan overlaps with the larger Rawalpindi road programmes reported earlier, so we do not combine them or treat this as part of them.
Why This Matters for Property
Repairs to roads and drainage could improve access and reduce flooding or waterlogging on the roads concerned, which matters to homes and businesses along them. That depends on approval and on the work being done. No effect on property values has been established.
What This Means for Residents and Businesses
Residents and businesses on Old Airport Road and Rawal Road should not expect works until approval is given. The signals to watch are the provincial approval, the tender for the works, the start date and the list of roads covered.
